Hudson -- When Army Sgt. David D. Hack was blown off an armored personnel carrier and wounded in South Vietnam in 1968, the last thing on his mind was a medal. He just wanted to go home. But 43 years have changed things.
U.S. Rep. Steven LaTourette on June 30 presented SFC Hack with the Purple Heart Medal for wounds he received during the Vietnam War in a medal ceremony on the Hudson Green.
Hack, a Hudson resident, is the chief executive officer of US Wings, a military-inspired bomber jacket company, on Hines Hill Road in Boston Heights.
